Every time I visit Istria, I get an overwhelming sensation of pure joy and happiness. Maybe it’s because I spent there most of the summers as a child, but for me, Istria is the most beautiful part of Croatia.
However, I’m not the only one in the world enchanted by the beauty of Istrian peninsula. There are dozens of breath-taking photos of Istria on Instagram, taken by unbelievably talented photographers, Instagramers and travel bloggers.
So if you been looking for Croatia travel inspiration on Insta, these are your people to follow! Furthermore, here is my work-in-progress Instagram account: @hellocroatiablog. I love travel photography and networking with other Instagramers!
Top Instagrammable Spots In Istria Croatia
Rovinj is a colorful little town situated on the west coast of Istrian peninsula. It is known as one of the most picturesque and romantic towns on Mediterranean. Therefore, Rovinj is always at the top of my Croatia travel photo list.
Oh, the joy of wandering the charming narrow streets of Rovinj Old Town! I love to take random photos of cute souvenir shops and art galleries for my Instagram feed. I’m happy to announce that I will be visiting Rovinj ( again ) at the end of April.
Without a doubt, Atelier Charm in Rovinj is one of the most instagrammable places in Istria Croatia. Dreamy location at the edge of the sea make this adorable boutique a favorite spot among the Instafamous! You’ll find Atelier Charm down the stairs off the main walk on the way to St. Euphemia Church.
The Pula Arena is one of the six largest Roman amphitheaters in the world. Above all, it’s truly a magnificent building, adored by professional photographers ( and Instagramers! )!
You can get a good shoot of the Arena from just walking around the outside. However, the entrance fee enables you to clamber the stones and take photos from different angels.
Brijuni National Park
The Brijuni islands are one of the 8 national parks in Croatia, situated on the south-west coast of the Istrian peninsula. The National Park consists of two larger islands, Veli and Mali Brijun, and 12 islets.
Spectacular tree-lined road on the photo bellow is located on Veli Brijun, not far from hotel Neptun. Veli Brijun is the biggest island of Brijuni archipelago and you can easily reach it by a short boat ride from Fazana near Pula.

Hidden Blue Cave in Pula
Seagull’s Rocks ( “Galebove Stijene” ) is a beach located in Stoja, the most western part of Pula city. The beach is rocky with high cliffs which are perfect for cliff jumping. In addition, there is a stunning Blue cave to explore. And to take some jaw-dropping photos for your Insta account!
In fact, the hidden gem of Istria, Blue Cave or Grotte Von Pula is extremely popular on Instagram! It may took some hunt to find the cave but it’s totally worth it.
Keep in mind that Seagull’s Rocks beach is bordering with former military base Muzil. There is a metal fence that’s keeping the visitors away from the facility. So you need to hike down the rocks to get there. The Blue cave is the last one in the row of several smaller caves, just before the fence.
Umbrella Streets In Novigrad
Situated halfway between Porec and Umag, Novigrad is often overlooked by tourists. But this little charming town in Istria, also known as Cittanova, is full of unique natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
In addition, one of the most Instagrammable spots in Istria is located exactly in Novigrad. You can’t miss a colorful umbrella street! In fact, there are several umbrella-lined streets in Novigrad that are perfect for your Insta-inspiration.
At first, the colorful decorations used to be hung up only during the Summer street art festival. But cheerful umbrellas brought so much attention from guests and locals alike so they kept appearing in more and more locations within the town.
Fort Punta Christo Bridge
Stinjan beach under the Punta Christo Fort it’s not only popular for its electronic music festivals and events. There is also a rope bridge witch is the perfect motif for a super-cool Instagram post. Likes guaranteed!
Moreover, climb to Fort Punta Christo for a breathtaking view of the entrance to Pula harbor and the islands of the Brijuni archipelago.
Did you ever visited Motovun, Istria? If not, you are missing a lot. Motovun is a picturesque hill-top town located in Central Istria, Croatia. The best photo spot in Motovun for a fabulous Instagram-worthy shot is Municipal loggia from 17th century.
The Loggia is situated at Josef Ressel Square and offers a breathtaking view towards western part of Istria and Mirna valley.
Zarečki krov ( Zarecje’s roof ) is one of the most beautiful natural attractions of Istria region. It’s actually a cave that resembles a roof over which the Pazinčica River creates a ten-meter-high waterfall.
This unique spot of untouched nature is located just 4 km away from the town of Pazin. You need to follow the local road to table Zarečje and then take a short walk through forest to river Pazinčica.

Great Travel Camera For Instagram Worthy Photos
I’m currently looking to buy a lightweight travel camera because my old Olympus is ( almost ) dead so I’m taking most of the photos with my Samsung phone.
Apparently, Canon EOS M100 is great value for the money. It’s light, easy to use and photos are bright and full of vibrant colors. Just the way I like it! I will investigate that further and let you know in one of mine future posts.
